Research
Research at the University of Cincinnati?s Cancer Center sets it apart from other cancer services in the region. Clinical trials, research, and translational research encompass our vast abilities to find new treatments, and one day, a cure.

Currently, researchers at UC are working on various types of cancers, including breast, prostate, colorectal, skin, and gastrointestinal. The value of research grants in one lab alone is nearly $3 million! The UC Cancer Center gets its funding for basic research from a variety of sources, but the majority comes from the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

The UC Cancer Center contracts with pharmaceutical companies to conduct clinical trials. Translated, this means that patients have access to cutting-edge treatments when they take part in these clinical trials. These trials help in getting drugs to market; therefore, it benefits not only the trial subject but also future cancer patients.
